Pegasus 2008
14th June 2008 ,

On Saturday 14 June, our U12 team of Matthew Liddiard, Zak Appleton, Jairaj Jandu, Hamish Carter and Jonathan Cook went to Maidstone in Kent to defend the U12 team title but unfortunately, in a very close competition, they missed out on the gold medal by less than a mark and ended up with the bronze medal.   They all competed very well but in a very tight competition even the tiniest mistake can be costly and so it proved in this competition.

  • Matthew took the all round silver medal at U12, with silver on parallel bars and bronze on pommels.

  • Hamish took the all round silver medal at U10, with gold on pommels and parallel bars and silver on rings and high bar.

  • Jonathan Cook, competing in his first 6 piece voluntary competition came 5th on vault.

Steady performances from Zak and Jairaj ensured the bronze medal for the team, which was over 6 marks ahead of the team in 4th place.

In the U14 competition,
  • Toby Shouls (who didnít compete on floor or vault because of an ankle injury) taking gold on high bar.
  • Sam Woodford came 13th, with 4th place on p bars and 5th on floor,

In the U16 competition

  • Ben Taylor came 2nd overall, with gold on high bar and 2nd on vault.
  • Nathanael Fittro came 3rd on vault and in the Open competition
