Well done to all the boys who competed in the
British Championships at the weekend - while we didn't have many
outstanding results this year we did have some good steady performances
and with several either just coming back from injury or still suffering
it was a pretty good all round performance.
Results were:
U12
Matthew Liddiard all round
silver
plus bronze on p bars - congratulations!
Hamish Carter (not 10 years old
yet), gaining in experience all the time, had a steady competition to
finish in 17th out of 70 gymnasts including equal 5th (with Matt) on
rings
U14
Toby Shouls 7th all round plus
gold on
High Bar (that makes him British U14 High Bar champion -
congratulations!),
Sam Woodford 11th all round with an
impressive consistent performance
U16
Matt Beverley did floor and vault,
getting the
bronze medal on vault (including a score of 15.00 for his second
vault!) - this also made him first reserve for the Masters Vault final.
Nathanael Fittro did floor, vault and
rings.
U18
Ben Taylor came 6th overall and was reserve for the Masters
Floor final (Ben is also the English Schools Champion...more)
Jake Houtby came 19th
Andy Smith didn't do pommels or
rings but got the
bronze
medal on floor and qualified in 7th place for the Masters final.
Senior
Sam Hunter only did p bars, high
bar, rings and pommels as he has a foot injury - he came 4th on p bars
and qualified for the Masters final but did not compete in it because of
his injury.
Masters Finals
Andy
Smith came 5th in the Floor final.
