REECE PEARSON (Age13) – 4 WAY
Under 16 INTERNATIONAL, FRANCE - NOVEMBER 2005 GB TEAM GOLD, Great Britain, Switzerland,
France and Germany. This is an annual competition between the
above Countries and traditionally GB have taken the wooden spoon.
However, the results were reversed for the first time with the six members
of the Great Britain Team, including REECE
PEARSON from NOTTS making his International debut, taking the
team Gold ahead of Switzerland followed by France and Germany. SAM OLDHAM (Age12) – FUTURE CUP,
LINZ, AUSTRIA Under 18,16 and 14 COMPETITION - DECEMBER 2005 The Future Cup is an 18 Team
International Competition including Nations such as Japan and the leading
Eastern Block Countries. Each team send 4 four gymnasts, one in each
age group category with the fourth member able to be in any of the age
bands. Great Britain included SAM OLDHAM
from NOTTS making his International debut, in the Under 14 Section.
SAM took the individual Under 14 GOLD and Great Britain took the Team
SILVER just behind Japan. ANDY SMITH (Age 15) & ZACH WALKER (Age11) – GB VS SOUTH AFRICA NOTTINGHAM - FEBRUARY 2006 Nottingham hosted its first International
Competition with two teams selected from the North of Great Britain taking
on two National teams from South Africa. Great Britain’s TEAM1
included ANDY SMITH and GB’s Team2
included ZACH WALKER both from NOTTS
and both making their International debuts. GB Team1 took GOLD ahead
of South Africa with GB TEAM2 taking BRONZE ahead of the second team from
South Africa. SAM OLDHAM, REECE PEARSON, ANDY
SMITH – OBI CUP, BERLIN - MARCH 2006 This is a very prestigious competition in
its 12th year. The competition is for Under 18's, with 20
International Teams competing from all over the world: including teams
from Europe, Japan and Australia. Great Britain sent a very young
team including ANDY SMITH, REECE
PEARSON AND SAM OLDHAM
all from NOTTS. The GB Team came 9TH, with
REECE PEARSON competing on six pieces taking the Under 14 individual
title, SAM OLDHAM competed on three pieces taking the Silver on all three,
and ANDY SMITH again on three pieces in the Under 16 section took Bronze

2006 SAM
OLDHAM has been selected to represent
Great Britain at the above event in Italy. All 31 Competing European
Nations send two gymnasts each to the above event for 11 day training
camp. UK SCHOOL GAMES, GLASGOW - 7th
to 11th
SEPTEMBER 2006 SAM
OLDHAM & REECE PEARSON have been
selected to represent England in the above event. This is the first
of the Government backed competitions designed to mirror the Olympics,
with Opening and Closing Ceremonies and an Athletes Village. The
competition will run every year up until 2012, with cities invited to bid
for the hosting of the event each year. There will be 1200 Athletes taking part
in Athletics, Swimming, Table Tennis, Fencing and Gymnastics, both in able
bodied and disabled competitions. Further sports will be added over
the coming years. The Gymnastics competition is an Under 17 Competition for Men, and along with REECE and SAM, SERGEI has been chosen as one of the Coaches for the England team. |
